Class Description
In this six week beginner-friendly handbuilding class, we will explore color application and surface design in our handmade creations. We will use underglazes, resists, and carving techniques to add depth and play to our pieces. Jess will share with you all their tips and tricks on building with clay while providing decorative prompts each week. Projects will be tailored to your skill level, with both basic and more challenging options available for you to try. By the end of class, each student should have more confidence in handbuilding and surface design and go home with several finished pieces. This is a great class for beginners or students looking to expand their handbuilding skills.
This class is limited to eight students, ensuring that each participant gets ample individualized attention. No experience required.
What to Expect
All clay, glazes/underglazes, and firing will be provided. This class also includes Open Studio at RECC. Pieces will be glaze fired after the conclusion of the class, and an email will be sent out to arrange pickup (this may take 3-5 weeks).
Students will receive an email the week prior to the workshop with access instructions. Full refunds are available up to one week before the workshop.
