Class Description
In this 6-week begintermediate handbuilding class, we will create intentional vessels for the kitchen. Our focus will be on clay objects related to food, such as salt pigs, garlic graters, and sandwich-themed coaster sets. Jess will show you all their tips and tricks on pinching, coiling, and slab building with suggested projects each week. Projects will be tailored to your skill level, with both basic and more challenging options available for you to try. By the end of class, each student should have more confidence in the ceramic process and go home with multiple finished pieces. This is a great class for beginners or students looking to expand their handbuilding skills.
This class is limited to eight students, ensuring that each participant gets ample individualized attention. No experience required.
What to Expect
All clay, glazes, and firing will be provided. This class also includes Open Studio at RECC! You will have access to their ceramics facilities during their usual hours, which you can book using their scheduling software. Please note that this is not the same thing as a Membership, so you will not have access to their multimedia equipment or guest passes. Students will receive an email the week prior to the workshop with access instructions. Full refunds are available up to one week before the workshop.
